how come he only plays piano, guitar, and drums at concerts/videos? who here has seen him play something else? I've only seen him play like 5 different instruments.

maybe he counts cowbell, recorder, woodblock, tambourine, stuff like that.

Takes some balls to call out a musician like Prince on what he can and cant play, id say.I would stay shut up unless I was Bach or Beethoven or somethin'. Prince is a bad ass, could probably play anything he picked up.

They also count keyboards as a different instrument then piano and he plays about 6 different kinds of guitars so that number is course very misleading.

i had a woman who was sitting next to me at one of the chicago shows try to convince me that she saw him play saxophone once.

Its something I rarely mention to non-Prince fans as I dont think it will really impress them more it will make them think its a crock o shit, he's mega tallented and is obviously a great guitar player and from what I have seen more than compedent on keys and drums ,but as no one really knows or sees what else he plays is there point in mentioning it. I mean its a little crazy to count acoustic and electric guitar as 2 different instuments or keys and piano because although they are slightly different to play they cant really be classed as seperates.

I also think acordian is pretty similar to keys,flute and recorder arnt that disimilar,and some of the others dont seem that disimilar although I'm no expert, but triangle and tamborine.

I saw Prince do a five minute Glockenspiel solo during one of the Chicago shows. It was very sexually charged.

Are some of these instruments perhaps just played on keys,I mean on a keyboard they have various sound effects, 29 instruments would take some monumental effort ,Sitar in itself would take a fair while to get to proffesional level,I heard Harrion spent about 7 years at it and he still hadnt mastered it. It wouldnt suprise me if this "Prince can play 29 instruments is a kinda joke" it would be no real shame if he could only play the guitar aswell as he does ,so playing only another 4-5 instruments is exceptional in itself.

I can play the Ocarina.
