I Wonder U Is it just me, or is 'I Wonder U' from 'Parade' a seriously surreal jam??? I mean, I LOVE that tune, and what I was wondering is....am I the only one who wished that he would have stretched it out more? I mean, it clocks in at under two minutes....just when you're feeling the groove of the song...it's over. The buildup and climax happen WAY too fast, in my opinion. This could have easily been a four minute+ song. Does anyone else out there have any feelings about that particular track??

Completely agree, I've been saying for years that some of the songs on Parade seem unfinished. "I Wonder U" is too short to be so intoxicating, it lacks a knock out punch. ` [This message was edited Fri Aug 6 22:38:10 2004 by Supernova] This post not for the wimp contingent. The thought has crossed my mind, but then I remind myself that I couldn't do anything to improve it and that it works perfectly on that album as is. It's much like Digital Garden on TRC in that respect.

yes i totally agree wit u on that one! and i feel the same way about Under The Cherry Moon, and Venus De Milo (especialy Venus). They shoulda been wayy longer than what they r. Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

I love the song the way it is. Have you heard the live version? It's longer. It took a couple of listens before I took to it.

To me the whimsical nature of Parade just adds to the beauty of it. The fact that this song was meant to be incorporated with Christopher Tracy's Parade and New Position makes it even better.
Best is not always quantity, or in this instance; time. To me I Wonder U seems to stretch on longer, like some songs have the ability to do. I name the extended version of Paisley Park, the b-side Girl (also extended), Alexa De Paris and Joy In Repetition.

I love that song too. I wish he would play it live and extend it.

Yes. And add some edits, have a kick ass horn section on it and make a remix for clubs! FUN! FUN! *Gooey switches off the sarcasm- button*

I LOVE this song! Its way too short though if U ask me! I have this on repeat all the time cause its a jam but its too damn short! Like alot of the songs on Parade, if it were a bit longer it would be fab! Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM
