Confession: I Love Under the Cherry Moon!

Man, I may be quite alone here and asking for flames, but I LOVE UTCM! More than Purple Rain if it comes down to it.
Now, granted, you have to be willing to imerse yourself into the fairytale-like story and setting that has no amount of reality whatsoever, but the comedy and the look and feel combined with one of his most diverse and freshest Albums he ever made to me makes it a slice of escapist bliss.

Give Her the Eyes!
"Cabbage Head!"
The Bela Legosi face
"Butterscotch...Chocolate...No way!"
LOve or $
"If ya wanted to buy a Sam Cooke abum..where wouldcha go?"
Having the conversation with the answering machine while playing the piano...

and More!
Too Cool.
But then again, maybe it's just me. I loved it the first time I saw it and could never understand the backlash.

Peace and God Bless

I figured another reason why I love this movie. It reminds me of a version of Prince I miss.

The Prince of today couldn't possible have this much fun with himself. He couldn't do something without it needing to make a statement. And it's cool where he is now. That's his space.
But sometimes I miss the fun.

I agree totally. smile

Prince WAS more fun back in the day, but for a 45 year old he's doing pretty good these days.

I'll agree with you here, UTCM is definitely the best of the movies. That was my favorite Prince time 85-89.

I'd like to see that "fun" come back myself.

I went and saw it with my folks sometime that month. Me and my mom were laughing our asses off when Tricky called Christopher a "selfish son of a biscuit-eater". lol

Dont forget these:

"Which one should I wear..My Versace, or my Bennucci"..and Prince replies, "I'll take that BLUE"...
"Maybe if u removed your chastity belt you could breathe a lil mo betta"
"Damn couildnt you buy some clothes?" (as Tricky and Prince are thrown out of the party)
him dribblin a basketball in high heels at the beginning is just crazy..
Tsk Tsk, What a pity...sometimes Life can be so shitty....
