My office is located on the 5th floor in front of a major intersection here in South Florida. Usually all I hear is the boom of the bass from local kiddies, a car crash almost every day at around noon, then the sirens of the fire department/ambulence that is two blocks in front of my window. Once in a while there is this cool old guy playing sax at the bus stop just below my window.

BUT TODAY... Not once, not twice, but three times I heard Prince tunes coming from cars at the intersection. Let's go crazy, When Doves Cry and Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance.

Is the world becoming a better place?




I'm making a big "to do" by posting this because I never meet any Prince fans here in West Palm Beach. And for the last 12 years, I've gotten nothing but the stink-eye when I'm at the red iight playing the latest CD. Even my wife has been warming up to the latest CD and has been complimenting his appearences on TV.

Only outside your window it seems.

I was at the grocery store in my suburban neighborhood. As I was loading the back of my suv, a car drove past me blasting "Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance". Of course I looked up surprised to hear it, my eyes followed the car. When it stopped, a white lady of about 65 got out and strutted herself towards the store.

At first, I thought that was so adorable. Then I thought about the song and her strut, and now I'm not sure if I should be proud or very afraid!
