Essential Albums The September issue of Vibe magazine names Prince Sign O' the Times as one of the 51 essential albums to own. Some other albums on the list include The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Electric Ladyland, John Coltrane: A Love Supreme, Marvin Gaye: Let's Get it On, Michael Jackson: Off the Wall, Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life, Sly and the Family Stone: Fresh, as well as many other albums from various soul, hip hop, and r & b artists. Even hip hop magazines recognize the genius of Prince. Even Patti LaBelle listed Purple Rain as one of her top five albums. | |

Yes indeed, Sign o' the times is a must own, even for the lukewarm fan of Prince. If you want limit it to five of Prince, my personal faves are Dirty Mind, Parade,Sign O', 1999, and The Gold experience[b] for a bit of 90's flavor.
