Dutch fans were SO proud; the Nude tour opened in Holland in an outside venue. Of course it rained.
He returned later that year to make up the first concert he cut short cuz he got rained on. I still think the Nude tour's opening one of the best; a compilation of soundscapes from different albums heating up the crowd before opening with The Future. And then Housequake and 1999 on the beat of The Future. So damn' good it made the purrr.

That really was one of my worst concert experiences...Waiting all day to be in front, then soaking wet during the concert, and the he just quits...I went to the make up concert..Unfortunately a little bit further than 'de Kuip'... Coming back to the subject, it was a great tour..In spite of the MC hammer trio....

I have a love hate for the Nude tour. The opening medley of tracks was excellent. A mix of funked up classics, and incredible version of Purple Rain, and the gorgeous Do Me Baby-Aint No Way-Nothing Compares 2 U medley are some of his best live stuff.
However the show was waaay too short, the band just didnt do it for me at all, and I really wasn't feeling live renditions of Partyman or Batdance. This tour is great for me for one reason only, his best live working of Nothing Compares 2 U, full of passion and no goddamn horns.

The length of the shows seemed/seems 2 depend on a number of factors: his mood, the audience response, weather, and on the Nude tour, he was conctantly pre-occupied with editing the Graffiti Bridge movie whilst out on the road.
Myself and a number of other orgers I know had the misfortune 2 attend the Manchester Nude show (which although I personally enjoyed) was still the shortest gig of the tour (can't remember HOW short - but TheBumpSquad will know...) Check out the televised Spanish gig from La Coruna - it's DAMNED HOT.

Between Paul and I - I'm sure we can set u 2 rights, and see whatchu missed...it was really cool - just cool arrangments, good choices of songs old and new, great dancing - and no rapping from the Gayme boyZ

I saw four Nude Tour concerts. The one in Denmark was very short, but at least it had Jenny Morris as the warm-up band. When me and my friends checked back in Stockholm, it had LOÏS LANE!
But then the show had at least grown in length. Unfortunately, it included the GAME BOYZ! No, I wasn't particularly pleased with the Nude Tour, but at least I had some moments of interaction with Prince during the shows. And we kept meeting Miko and his harem prior to the shows. That was kind'amusing. Mostly, I recall it as "the sex tour" - Prince and Miko seemed to be in serious competition about the girls and there were many reports in the gossip columns about Prince's conquests during the tour. Also... Miko did indeed smell like he had bathed in perfume. I suppose because one sweats a lot on stage and he wanted to smell good for his harem after the shows too And with all Prince's singing about "perfume in the bath, darling", I take it he smells quite the same. So don't get too close to him, Anxiety, or you'll just get an allergic reaction again. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I remember at one of the shows in Stockholm, Prince played Bambi, and me and my friends totally tripped on hearing some raw guitar playing rather than just the usual hits-stuff. But the rest of the Swedish audience looked utterly confused by this sudden infusion of "heavy metal." It was quite apparent that they didn't appreciate it. The poor pop-fans...
Anyways, I think The Question Of U was the unqustionable highlight of the Nude Tour. [This message was edited Sat Aug 7 15:29:05 2004 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

It was my first experience of Prince live and I came away very dissapointed. It just wasn't what I was expecting. OK we had crap seats and all but he didn't seem to be going for it as I'd hoped
Every gig I've seen since was great but Nude? I'm sorry. It was boring. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

I remember seeing footage of this tour on tv years ago & being SO jealous that I couldn't go!! Love the pics from that era, the show was hot (yea, I heard it anyway!) Plus, you gotta love the words "Prince" & "nude" put together

Of all the 20 odd Prince shows I've seen dating back to Purple Rain and going through Musicology, I'd have to say the Nude shows were the most disappointing Prince shows that I've seen. I saw the Ruperts show and then the St. Paul show before it went over to Europe.

Every gig I've seen since was great but Nude? I'm sorry. It was boring. Same here. I never got to see Lovesexy, so when Prince came to Manchester, I was there like a bullet. But it was awful. Really bad. No atmosphere whatsoever and the sound was quite low.

A good show on that tour featured that nice skimmed sound I just loooove. Like Controversy on this tour.

A good fun tour - it brought Bambi back to the set... And on the last date of the tour, he did a wicked version of Raspberry Beret at Wembley.

Shame this tour never got around to the US. Sort of a GH package. I have Spanish Harem. I have to say that this was one hell of a tour! Right from the intro. He also does music from Batman on the tour...starts off with the Future...one of my favorites. THere are really no down moments during the set.
My question about this tour is wasn't it supposed to be a stripped down tour? The songs did not seem very stripped down. It was very keyboard heavy too. My impression was that it was going to be like a 5 piece band. Christian Zombie Vampires

i was lucky enough to see the tour in Ireland. Mavis opened up for him and it was an amazing show. I was very lucky to be there.
wish he would have brought the tour here to the US of A The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I´ve seen the concert in Belgium and we were lucky because
it was one of the hottest days of that summer. While we we´re waiting in the sun we could hear him rehearsing, even some songs he didn´t play that night. The music was great and it was all about music on this tour-meaning no elevators, beds or piano´s rising.. It was the first and probably the last time we could enjoy Prince playing a concert outside while the sun went down and a wonderfull summernight came along... Love4oneanother

Spanish Harem is one of my favourite live boots
He seemed to be having a lot of fun that night. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

The Nude Tour preview at the St Paul Civic Center was my first Prince concert (and my first concert at all), and I loved it! Still think it was a great show, even in retrospect. Rosie sounded amazing. We went to pick up the tickets and I was pumped cuz they were rehearsing I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man, only to be let down when they didn't perform it. My only disappointment that night. Good, fun show!

No, but a concert in Tokyo was shown on TV in many countries - although the producers had switched some of the tracks around. I'm sure many fans taped that show. I know I did. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position where I can tape from VHS to VHS. I would have given you a copy, if I could. This is not the Blue Angel. This is: The Blue Angel never had his symbols on the frets, it had black dots. Your picture is of the electric blue cloud from the late 90's. The Nude Tour was cool. It defenitely gave us the best live and full version of When Doves Cry he's ever done. The only thing I don't like about it is, I felt it was too early in his career to do a "hits" tour. Ever since the Nude tour he hasn't stopped doing the hits. I miss the days when you could go to a Prince concert and hear completely new music. Lovesexy Funkateer
