It's hard to imagine someone not enjoying She's Always in My Hair. To me it captures the essential mood and vibe of Prince at his best. It has one of the coolest intros as well as a damn cool ending (the extended version). Prince's performance vocally is outstanding on the track, and his playing is perfect.
I wore out the 12 inch single back in '85-'86, and the song remains one of my all time favorites.

Favorite moments-

1) The guitar solo, especially Prince singing the single note echoing his guitar.

2) In the extended version , close to the end, Prince does a great vocal run leading up to the screaming climax...timeless.

That song is great. One of my favourites. Both 'She's Always in my Hair' and '17 Days' are of amazing quality. Two great timeless songs. And the intro to '17 days' ... don't even get me started!!!

That song is no doubt one of the best prince tunes ever written. It makes my hair stand up every time I hear it. You need to listen again. I also agree that "Another Lonely Christmas" is THE BOMB. That song catapults his musical talent.

..and D'angelo did not do it justice..

Man, D'angelo funked it up! Prince's version is mad, but D'angelo's version - to me - is just a little bit better. Had to say it..

I've spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out something original to say, but I fail miserably... I _love_ this song! The first time I heard it I fell so madly in love with it that I recorded a 90 minute tape with this song back to back the whole tape through and was completely happy listening to it over and over...it's beautiful, just beautiful.

Loved that song all the way through since he first time I heard it.
At a P concert, in 1992 (?), well, after the symbol album, I was quite shocked by the way the whole thing was going: too much make-up, music I didn't like, but it was Prince, Y'no: I had to go.
As I said I was quite disappointed, when the lil' man went: "Whenever I feel like giving up.....whenever my sunshine turns to rain....." and I was paralized, looking into his eyes while he sang those lyrics (I was very close to the stage) and couldn't see anything else.
It was worth going just to hear that, it was like a slap in the face for me.
Thanx P for writing it!

I love "She's Always In My Hair." It's a great song, and I have always tended to love his B-sides more than some of his album tracks!

She's Always In My Hair

I love it! Also dug the performance he did of it at the Rave Un2 The Year 2000 broadcast.

I liked the gurl dancer who acted this scene out with him-she was cool, funky and had nice legs! smile

peace!

I love that song... one of my favourite b-sides.

I always figured that the only reason he left it off Around The World In A Day was that it re-uses a keyboard line from Sex Shooter.

It's a good song, but that song is NOT one that I would include in my list of favorites - it's not even close.

Just not my kind of tune.

Age again. lol

As I was probably not even born (as is often the case) when Prince released this tune I have only ever heard it on the Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic Vid & I aint heard the original.

Can anyone please tell me when & how it was released so I might find a copy? Was it a single or an album track?

Thanx all
