She's Always In My Hair - What do YOU think ?

Everyone else seems to have started a thread so now I guess it's my turn !

I really don't like this song that much.
I can see why he left it off Purple Rainxxx
(SORRY ATWIAD !) - it makes me want to fall asleep.

Somebody said this song was 'funky'? Blaquekinght ?
What are you thinking but each to their own - I guess
Maybe I just don't 'get' it...
Anyone care to explain it to me ??

Especially when he plays it live in that crappy medley...

Another Lonely Christmas - now there is a great song !

I'm crazy about this song - particularly the extended version. Ah, the "Raspberrry Beret" 12 inch single is a thing of beauty and perfection.

Okay, I'm starting to sound like that fat comics guy on The Simpsons. Someone please knife me now.

I totally agree with that. I got the extended version of the song last summer and I tell you it kicked my butt good. It made me like the song even more.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Hmmmmm let me see She's always in my hair is the 5th best b-side by Prince.
1. How come u don't call me anymore. 2. I love u in me.3 Erotic City 4. Love or Money 5. She's always in my hair. So in my opinion that's a great b-side by Prince.

That guitar line and the lyrics are some of Prince's best work. I guess someone wouldn't like it cause it is a very complex song and not too poppy. There's alot going on in this song and that's why you have to listen to it many times to really get tired of it. I really like that phaser he uses over the beat. It kicks ass and D'angelo did not do it justice, but thanks for trying.

SHE'S ALWAYS IN MY HAIR...

Mos def one of P's best written songs!!!!!

It may not me very funky but it is truly a great pop/rock song!!!!!

I think it would've done well on AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY as the lead off single....then...Rasberry Beret....
Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I'd love 2 say sthg original, but I have to agree with everyone else - it's one of my favourite songs too, especially the extended version. I remember sitting in my bedroom with my older bro listening to it for the first time, we were just grinning at each other. Great guitar line, all that used to be great in Prince lyrics, and the 'oooh' during the guitar break still gives me goosepimples every time. It rocks, it funks, it pops, it is without a doubt my favourite song (from '85).

Only heard it live once at Wembley Stadium about 10 yrs ago, and he broke into this mad metal guitar solo at the end - an aural orgasm.

Another lonely Christmas on the other hand merely good

Absolutely wonderful song.

The extended version is just perfect.

The way he starts 2 scream the words right at the end

"THAT WOMAN, THAT WOMAN SHE'S IN MY HAIR, MY HAAAAAIR"

If ever there was a song in search of an album, it is this one. 2gether with '17 Days'.

Yeah, when I heard this song live at the Act 1 show (which I believe is the version on that Ahdio show) it gave me a new appreciation for it.

I think that is one of his best songs that he ever made. I remember when i bought The Raspberry Beret 12 inch record when it first came out and when I first it She's Always in my Hair, I forgot Raspberry Beret was the single that was suppose to be released. That song should have been released as a single and an album cut, especially coming off the purple rain album, this would have been a great follow up.

Hands down, my favorite officially released Prince song of all time!! The song is complex, yet it has a bit of simplicity 2 it in the lyrics. The beat is hypnotic. It's everything a song should be. I performed that song in my high school talent show back in the fall of 2000, I can name about 20 people who either told me how much they loved the song, or made me tape it 4 them. NON Prince fans fell in love with the song when I did it!!

Anybody who has the Cd-Rom that came with the DAYS OF WILD book can see that in the memorabila section of that cd-rom, it has Prince's original lyrics 4 the song, which are a whole lot different from the song that we know 2day.

As someone who actually played on stage with Prince (yes, I'm still plugging that!) She's Always In My Hair is seriously my favorite song of all time. I was 16 when that song came out, and I was in a situation with a girl at the time that I really liked, but she wouldn't give me any peace, she was always in my hair. The song stuck with me every since.

Hopefully everyone's heard the extended version and not the one on the Greatest Hits collection. Talk about funky? That bass line is phat! On the Rave Un2 The Year 2000 Concert, it's the second song he performs, and I put it in a lot of times just to check out THAT song.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but She's Always In My Hair still moves me like no other song to this day. Funky, hypnotic, classic.

I also love this song. Especially live. I bet the person who originated this thread kinda wishes they hadn't. What did he/she expect to get for an answer. It's all positive.
