What song have you REDISCOVERED most recently? I used to routinely skip over "Free" until a few years ago. It popped in my head today & I just had to hear it. I played it over & over & over, all day! I'm just now realizing how great this song is - so simple, nice build w/ an emotional release, great screams @ the end, the quiet tinkle of the keys @ the very end...
Makes me glad knowing his catalogue is so deep I can rediscover something that's 20+ years old & still dig on it like it's new Your turn: what song have you rediscovered most recently?

Last year I rediscovered Private Joy. That song can make me unbelievably happy.
As a matter of fact; I am going to play it RIGHT NOW!

The Beautiful Ones. Songs from PR get played so much on radio stations in MPLS, I typically don't reach for that ablum. What a shame. "She made me glad to be a man"

It's Gonna Be Lonely. I listen to that song everyday now. I don't think I have missed a single day listening to it. I love how he says, "Betcha thatcha didn't know that in my dreams/you are the star./The only bummer is that you always want to leave-vuh/who do you think your are" -- the way he says LEAVE gets me every time!!
Also, 1999 -- I could hardly listen to that song when I was little. It always scared me. My father would play it all the time. But now, I listento it and I like it. I finally understand the lyrics. The Dreaming Peasant from New England The Dreaming Peasant
"Penny, penny bring me luck...." I'm just a child; I'm so darn shy; a knock at the door, and I run to hide.

As a matter of fact; I am going to play it RIGHT NOW! I have been hammering this song recently. I love it! I don't know why, but when I listen to it, I see Leroy Johnson from the Kids From Fame dancing around in his nylon shorts and vest, twirling around in the air. Debbie Allen is banging her stick whilst Bruno Martelli plays his synthesisers.

We-ell, I have rediscovered: WHEN WE'RE DANCING CLOSE AND SLOW -- i think this is the title.
NOTHING can beat the way he says: tell me, baby, are we here alone!! THAT "alone" gets to me!!! HE IS TOO CUTE! That sad and the lonely love the best "The poets are demanding their pay..."
"I'm a radio I'm a country station I'm a little bit corny I'm a wildwood flower..."

Nothing by Prince recently....I go thru phases with things sometimes...it's not The Kid's turn yet. He'll get me soon enough. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

As a matter of fact; I am going to play it RIGHT NOW! You know, I always ignored this song cos I was too excited to get to Let's Work" Then I met Moonbeam at the Xenophobia Celebration and he kept talkin bout the song, so I finally gave it proper attention. I've been in love ever since (with both the song AND moonbeam, lol)

Come On
Didn't like it when it came out, but it just registered with me a few weeks ago. The Camille-esque vocals, the slide guitar. Diggin it.

Anna Stesia, I always loved it, but over the years I slowly forgot about it.
The last week or two I have played it everyday and have been stunned by how beautiful it is, all over again. [This message was edited Tue Aug 3 20:25:29 2004 by purplesmoke] "Did u love somebody
But got no love in return? Did u understand the real meaning of love? That it just is and never yearns" ...Prince

Great song! One of his most under-rated, at least in my own humble thinking.

Also think the live version is actually the better version.
