Madhouse STILL rocks. screw 16 or 24.
The original Madhouse 8 is still just a fantastic thing to listen to. Eric Leeds showed Prince a thing or two on this disc, that's almost all i can say here. Except Prince really plays the piano better here than on anything else I've heard him play. Of course, I type that WHILE I'm listening to this disc. I'm sure in 10 minutes I'll change my mind, but LOOKOUT HERE COMES 6! UH OH. ON THE FLO! The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

All 3 Madhouse albums are great (the 93 doesn't count IMO).
16 is my favourite, but 8 gives it a good run for sure.

What do you mean that Eric showed Prince a thing or two. Prince knew what Eric was capable of thats why he hired him for the job. Prince wrote the songs remember.

Prince wrote the songs, but these are jazz songs - Prince didn't write Eric's solos. Eric's sense of timing and phrasing are just mind blowing to me. Mind you, I know jack squat about jazz sax players, (obviously) but I give Prince kudos for bringing funk/pop fans like me OVER to Jazz for starters. And Eric's playing on here is fantastic. FANTASTIC. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
