perusing through all these posts... i finally pulled out all my old Prince music (CD's & 12"...) and dddddayum.... i forgot how incredible this stuff is... I got on board with Purple Rain -- then whole-heartedly embraced ATWIAD and Parade... went back & got the earlier stuff...and by the time SOTT came, I was so beyond hooked. And continued that way for several years until around the time of "7"...right after then, he kinda lost me...but I kept payin attention & kept listenting & even though I didn't love it like the earlier stuff...I still respected him...

fast forward to a few weeks back -- me & a friend went to MSG and saw Prince & co. TURN IT OUT. FANTASTIC. I didn't enjoy most of his late 90's stuff --- but i have been having a ball re-introducing myself to all the stuff from 1984 - 1991....AWESOME.
