First Avenue DVD Question... Just noticed how close the performance of Purple Rain from this dvd is to the album. Was this recording from this dvd performance used for the Purple Rain we all know from the album? Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

In short yes. Prince used the basic track and edited and overdubbed it for the Purple Rain album. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

In short yes. Prince used the basic track and edited and overdubbed it for the Purple Rain album. Exactly, that's exactly what I was referring to. Much of the music is exactly as it is in the album. And I was never quite sure as to "Recorded Live at First Ave." meant in the credits of the album when it sounded so studio. Now I understand. Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see
