Yeah,they were going for the psychedelic vibe, but the director tried WAY too hard. At least they could have a unifying theme and base the images more off the song lyrics. And notice that all the images are looped over and over again. It makes for a boring video.

It's also very cheap looking. Prince should have shot it on film and they could get more visual effects with filters and such, like what the Beatles did for their "Strawberry Fields" video.

I heard though that single was only released in Uk and not US, so that video is made possibally 4 UK market only.....thus a cheap video without prince was made.....

Hmmm, I always liked it.

I love the lo-fi (even for then) look of the special effects, looks like late 70s TV shows.

I think they spend too much on videos these days.

Most of Prince's videos are cheap-looking and suck ass. It's weird, because you would think he'd have a fantastic catalog of videos, but no.

I remember being SO shocked seeing that clip!

Paisley Park has always been a special song to me, so when MTV did an item on som elesser known Prince clips, I was glued to the tele.

What a major bummer. I was expecting a glam clip like Raspberry Beret and got a kiddie playyard. I only saw it once.

The first time I actually saw this video (more like a fraction of it) was in the game "Interactive". Eh...only 10 years after the video was originally released. But yeah, I wasn't too impressed.

Still, I know some poor soul is gonna see this thread and think "oh my GOD, there's a video for Paisley Park?!?! I don't care how lame they say it is, I GOTTA SEE IT!!!!"



All's I can say is, if ya gotta hunt it down, do whatcha gotta do - we'll be here for ya after the big disappointment.
