PURPLE RAIN DOES NOT BELONG 2 PRINCE!!!  've been searching 4 this awhile & finally found it. The song is 100% Prince's but he stole the title "Purple Rain" back when he was about 14 years old. have found this song by the group America that wrote Ventura Highway N 1972, 12 years b4 Purple Rain. The lyrics go like this: "Wishin' on a falling star. Waitin' for the early train. Sorry boy, but I've been hit by Purple Rain."

What do U think? my word! pr really isn't his?! and i sooo thought that luther and beyonce's the closer i get 2 u is new...hahaha sike nah...but good investigation..i woulda never thought to look and c if he ripped that off from some group i never heard of. Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...

but no, i ain't scurred of a damned thing. that, and that ain't an example of being a "thief". like what me and hrb mentioned above, same could go with "sign o'the times". people use similar lines or names in songs all the time. it's gone on since the art of songwriting even began. what you're sayin is the equivalent of basically sayin somethin like dion ganked the name sue for "runaround sue" from buddy holly's "peggy sue". makes no sense, really. keep pullin straws, y'hear?  | |
