Prince heard the result and didnt feel like it sounded a Madhouse album. He suggested that the record should be his frst solo album.

March 17 1992:

Prince previews several new songs at paisley park including "The Continental", "Damn U" , "Sexy MF", he stood by the Dj and observed reactions 2 the dance floor.

March 17:
release of ElDebarge's Tip O My Tounge feat. his version of the title track written by Prince.

March 20 1992:

Video for Sexy MF is shot at Paisley park over 3 days. Footage for "The Continental" was shot later that week, some of it in Prince's Los Angeles home. Troy Beyer and Robin Power guested in the video.

"Just As Long As Were 2gether" is released as a single as a followup to Soft & Wet with minimal commercial success. The single failed 2 chart top 100 and only crept into Billboard's soul chart at #91. The B-side was In Love from For You.



April 3rd 1990:
Release of Private Waters In The Great Divide by Kid Creole & The Coconuts. The album features the Prince penned song "The Sex Of It" The album was actually finished when he recieved "The Sex Of It" from Prince, a song he promised Creole when they met in Europe in 1988. The record company CBS liked the song so much they delayed the album so it could be included.

'Private Joy' Is closer 2 my b-day than it is 2 urs!!!

Prince works on the post production of Dirty Mind tapes at Hollywood Sound Recorders in Los Angeles until early July. Despite obvious concern at Warner Bros., most of the company's chief exec's lined up in favour of releasing the songs as Prince's new album.
