I think u must mean "one nite alone." The CD quality is great on a whole i think its pretty crappy. uninspired. I loved the concerts i went to but this left me flat and i never listen to it. The only parts I like are "Joy in Repitition" in the aftershow and the piano section of ONA. the version of "Nothing Compares" is the best version ive ev er heard him do. blows away the version on HITS/B SIDES.

I really like this boxset. To me it was sort of like a precursor to the Musicology tour.
The sound quality is good and I like the way he interacted with the crowd.
I do wish that they would release some of the outtakes that did not appear on it, like the duet with Alicia Keys, 777-9311. I play this boxset at least once a week. biggrin

The aftershow CD is the best part of it IMO.

It's almost too expensive to justify buying it just for this though.

Agreed!

After hearing boots of many other Concerts, listening to this is pretty hard and disappointing.

i am just back from some paris holidays...
i've been visting (like in the older days) bercy and zenith (good 2 know, that there were some great purple moments in these buildings - memory! good gawd!)

and also i checked virging and fnac record store - both hold plenty of ona boxes!
next 2 all the other official stuff - the box price is about 53 euro... not that much imho
i was about 2 buy 2-3 4 a gift, but i said no, cos its not so handy - anyway....

btw: when i checked the stores, i came up with a blues... i miss the good old days - the
wb - sexy mf. 93-days (champs elysees) signature pre-concert party princing groove...

ps. i am not into drugs.. only bit' nostalgic!

kodjo! if u read this! i had ur coordinates with me - then l8 my wallet with all inside was
stolen! sad i really wanted u 2 surprise u in paris!!!! next time!

It's an OK box set to me. I like some of the choices of songs he did during those concerts, like " how come you don't call me any more ", " adore ", " when you wer mine ", and " raspberry beret ". He could have left out the box voice he used on Rainbow Children, but that was his mood during those concerts. It is what it is. neutral

The "One Nite Alone...Live!" box set and "Musicology" are chalk and cheese.

OK. This is ridiculous! The ONA set is probably one of the best CD's u can get. Prince "live" and in good sound quality is allways good. What makes this set supurb is ofcourse the Aftershow. But the concert itself is better then the regular shows he gave the years before or after. U can get high on "nothing compares 2 u", this version on this CD got a great build up and solo from Candy. Its got Xnophobia...a great instrumental..great guitar playing. Its got great solo's from

And then the aftershow. The start is Joy n Repition...its probably the greatest guitar solo i have ever heard or at least it does compete with the 88 ""just my imagination".

I guess u can make up ur own mind now.
