This may be obvious to most folks,

but the title track from "new power soul" is straight from the Exodus sessions. You can hear it all over the track (not just the samples, but the type of horn/vocal arrangements). However, the version in the NPS album doesn't have the same edge and live band feel that exodus had. Prince subued the whole production of the song and made it boring and lame. However, I wonder if the true version, done w/ Michael B. on drums, Sonny on bass, and Barbarella on Keyboards is somewhere locked up -- cause this song has funk potential!

There are 2 completely different songs called 'new power soul' 1 on exodus, the other on nps. The one on the CTD's single is the instrumental New Power Soul found on the exodus album. And to the best of my knowledge these 2 songs are entirely unrelated.
