WHAT whas Prince thinking?!?  I just downloaded Xpectation (not knowing it was ANOTHER all instrumental effort) and it's possibly WORSE than the dreadful N.E.W.S.! Does any1 else absolutely HATE these albums? I'm a big jazz fan, but this is pretty weak jazz. I kept "Xpecting" something good to come out of Xpectation, but, outside of the drumming, which sounds good (is it Blackwell?) it's pretty much totally horrible.
Of course this is only my opinion. DAMN I despise these albums and hate the fact I just paid $7.77 for another jazzy instrumental thing. WHY DIDN'T ANY1 WARN ME?!? At least NPG Music Club could have a disclaimer along the lines of: you'll prolly think this album sucks monkey dick - download at your own risk!

I knew N.E.W.S. was all instrumental. I bought it knowing that. I hated it. I had NO IDEA Xpectation was essentially the same thing, only blissfully shorter. i really feel for those who downloaded xpectation, and didn't just get given it as part of the package a couple years ago.
it blows. just thank heaven for small mercies - at least it wasn't Kama Sutra. | |
