so .. what's up with the shoes? Has anyone noticed Prince is wearing strange shoes lately? Just look at the pictures from the NY show ..
First, he's wearing his normal high heels ... 
But then, he gets in his "orthopedic shoe" style ..

I believe that he puts the flat shoes on for the acoustic set. I think that it helps him turn the chair better without slipping or sliding. | |

He has a bad knee. He doesn't wear them every show, only when he suffers from it. This is also the reason he doesn't jump off piano's or doesn't do the splits any more. | |

Yes, he hurt his knee (wearing heels isn't very condusive to the healing process). If you watch the "Night with Kevin Smith" DVD, there's a story about Prince in which Prince says he hurt his knee so he wouldn't be going on that night. To which Kevin replied, "Is it because of the heels?" P just said, "Lay off my shoes, man". Funny, funny story (if you have a sense of humor about the man, that is).

Speaking from experience, it is hard wearing high heels all evening long and eventually you are in pain. Can you imagine Prince limping and trying to put out at the same time? He gotta be comfortable so he can concentrate on his singing

Prince is a very short man.

I Think it's Great He's Wearing flat shoes and why Shouldn't we want OUR MAN to be Comfortable? I Don't Know how Rhonda or Candy can wear heels all night... I have Learned from ExPERIENCE to Wear Comfy Shoes Cause Standing in Heels is VERY PAINFUL. Plus it's a Rap Thing so Maybe Prince is Just Being IN STYLE! | |
