Got Exodus? Thanks to all for the previous comments on the "Exodus" record. Bought it off e-bay and it just arrived from the U.K.. Great record! Every track is a good listen. Dig on it largely because Prince is on every one, but it's not just all about him: the record features the band to the same degree it features Prince, and it's all good! IMHO, it's far superior to "Gold NIgga", which isn't the greatest album in the world and, for some reason, is ALWAYS selling for close to $200.00 U.S. on e-bay! Can anyone explain why the heck "Gold Nigga" is always going for so much money? It sells for more than boot legs and box-sets! I purchased a mint copy second-hand for $2 bucks! I think Exodus is his 2nd best album of the nineties behind The Gold Experience. Get Wild, The Good Life, Return of the Bump Squad, and The Exodus has Begun are just dripping, stinking, tasty funk.

Lotsa folks really dig on that "Gold Experience" album. However, I find "Exodus" to be far superior. But that's not a challenge, really. How can I not slam the Gold album too badly by saying that Prince wouldn't have had to try hard to top it? I know folks are really into that record, but I can only give solid props to one or two tracks ("Shy", "319") and the rest . . . well . . . I can live without 'em as well as I can live with 'em. ciao beautiful people! The Only One with the Power to Save Us is Ourselves

Would you compare this album to Bob Marley's Exodus? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Would you compare this album to Bob Marley's Exodus? Unfortunately, the Prince/NPG "Exodus" does not hold a candle to Bob Marley's record of the same name. I find the Prince/NPG disc to be a synthesis of funked-up, jazzed-out Prince/NPG and a slice of Parliament Funkadelic--but even that's a stretch. It's a funky album for sure, and the variety of outrageous characters, particularly in the "meanwhile in outer space" segue, points to some of its P-funk aspirations. Otherwise, it must go without saying that this album will never attain the fire of Bob Marley's "Exodus", not in a million years. The Only One with the Power to Save Us is Ourselves

As it turns out, my copy (of Gold Nigga) has 16 tracks. This is a good thing? Why is this album (16 tracks or otherwise) going for so much on e-bay? To be honest, if you removed one track--or even added another one--I don't think it would affect an already struggling artisitc statement. But what I think about the album doesn't explain it's apparent value . . .what's the deal? The Only One with the Power to Save Us is Ourselves

BM's Exodus has deeper lyrics but P's Exodus kicks it's ASS on the funk tip. 2 different vibes. P was givin up the real funk on this cd and when he played them live that shit was off da'hook! Sorry, I didn't read it properly, I thought were talking about Exodus having 2 issues and being expensive. The first run of Gold Nigga has Guess Who's Knockin', the later issue doesn't.

How can you possibly say Exodus is worse than Goldnigga? Or Kamasutra, for that matter?
