The Australian "Today" show featured Prince as the "E-Spot" focus on Thursday July 22nd.
Richard Wilkins presented the piece, which sampled an previous interview obviously recorded in the U.S
I had the program on as I prepared for work, and threw a tape in the 'ol VCR before heading off to the grind. I have just finished watching the recording, and I must say, that the tech staff at channel 9 should lower the volume of the 'background' music while Prince is speaking. "Musicology" was played as the backing tracking track to the piece, but seemed to over-power the voice over's and Prince.
They show a brief portion of the "Call my Name" clip as the interview progresses, concluding with a 30sec or so segment from "Kiss".
The panel then briefly chat about Prince. Richard Wilkins is a massive Prince fan, and has always admitted as much...even going back to the 1992 Australian Diamonds & Pearls tour, when he presented "purple rain"/ Under the Cherry Moon / & Graffitti Bridge as the MTV feature Movies in one week while Prince toured Sydney.

I missed the last RW interview last year too (-recovering from the Mel. aftershow the night b4) and Rove made a mess of the last one... unfortunately I didn't miss this one!

It was a better segment than the one on CBS in the states...

...It had all that mattered from the CBS interview and we didn't have to see that stupid chick dance like a bloody moron with the band and hear about how she loved Prince in college and crap...It was more about her than Prince.

...This one just used the footage and made a much better 3 minute piece...It wasn't great by any means, but better than the CBS one...I thought anyhow.

Thanks 4 the info batman89 . I wish i had've heard earlier and caught it on video. I reckon we'll see him out here in the not too distant future. Prince seems to have won the hearts of so many types of people, and he's somehow got the energy to keep pounding his way from one venue; one country,to the next. Fingers crossed we'll get a chance to catch him in OZ soon.

What a crappy story from the Aussies! The Australian story steals from the CBS interview and the music in the background makes it hard to hear what P is saying in the interview.
