Why is The Work "Pt. 1"? Has there ever been a Pt. 2?

If Prince was willing to do the work like we like it, there would be... RELEASE IIIII-IT!

I think it is called Pt. 1 just to imply that 'the work' is never done and there is always more to come.
No one knows if there are actually any more parts.

Part 2 is when he comes knockin' on your door. [This message was edited Wed Jul 21 6:04:19 2004 by MendesCity]

IMO, it's to give the title a James Brown-feel (just like the tune). Many great JB singles were released like pt.1 (a-side) and pt.2 (b-side).

The Work is never done; that's what it implies. Peace.

Didn't he do a live version of The Work Pt. 2 when he performed at a Chicago NPGMC promotional party back in 2001 ?

Woulda been nice though to have pt. 2 on the single that was released. Just an instrumental extension or a sax version mebbe? like James Brown would have - basically 7" records couldn't hold the funk so he had to fade that shit out and make ya flip the wax for ya next hit!
