I can't remember him playing I feel 4 U before this tour. I like that song.

Purple Rain I could do without. I've never been to a show where he didn't play it.

That said, I think he still plays the shit out of it and was surprised by how it moved me this June.

As for changing the lyrics, my brother said "Work you're body like a whore" is not exactly high art.
Who cares what he does to his own songs? As Miles said "thats why they have records"

After my second 20 oz. beer at a show, I'm always looking for an appropriate song to run to the bathroom.

For me, that song is... I Feel 4 U.

Then again, if he took it out of the set list, when would I go to the bathroom?!? Damn, it's a conundrum.

And, no, I'm not an alcoholic. A man just likes to have a beer at a concert, is all.

Some friends and I drove out of town to go to the concert and I sat in the back and drank all the way up there. I'm glad I did because I was already good and fucked up before I got there and only had to buy one of those damn $6 beers. I kept telling my friends "I wish he'd play 'The One' because I gotta piss". I was only joking but I be damned if he did!
Andy is a four letter word.

...reading through these posts, wanted to comment when Prince performs any one of these songs I NEVER see one person booing, rolling eyes, or unmoved...I wonder if some people really dislike these songs as much as they say they do to not hear them again, or is it that you don't mind hearing on your player, but live 'prefer' something else? Because everyone was happy, smiling and cheering him on as he sang these songs, I guess the only way to get that message across to Prince is to boo him when performing, get together and shout out the songs you WANT to hear, or try to get the ones you don't want to hear again boycotted all together...I just don't think anyone dislikes these songs to the extent they don't ever want to hear them again, because when Prince sang Purple Rain and some of the others mentioned, EVERYONE was cheering at the concerts, didn't hear anyone complaining at all, whether hardcore or casual.

I don't hate any song that he does live....but, I love the man's constant evolution and I would love it if he cut a couple of older, "popular" (in the "pop" sense) songs out in favor of some newer stuff....Trust me, I would rush to buy tickets to see him perform ANY song live, I just think that I'd like to see him tear up some new songs on stage....

What about the Lovesexy Live version? That was pretty much the same arrangement.
