Song by some1 that screams of P 2 u

4 the first time in a looooong while, i turned on the radio....well, anyway i am happy i did, because they were playing something called, "push up", by Freeloaders. The 1st thing that popped in my head was how much it sounded like something that P would have done in the 80's. I initially thought it was P singin' it (4 about 2 seconds:), and i wish at least 1 song on Musicology was like this 1. Maybe they are fans of P? I haven't done any research. It's kinda funky and i like it.

Anything else any1 heard by some1 that screams of P 2 them?

"Lady", by Lenny Kravitz, off his latest, "Baptism".

Hand claps/accents on every 4th beat? Pure Prince.

eek That song SUCKS! Nova give it WAY too much airplay. To compare it to Prince is downright crazy.

Just an opinion. I like it, and how is comparing it 2 P "downright crazy"?? I ve heard, and read of various comparisons, and some of them have been very absurd.
If you read the title to this thread, u would have offered something much more tasty then what you just wrote.

This might sound odd, but "This Is Radio Clash" by the Clash always reminds me of Prince. The whole stacatto drumbeat with claps, the sax, the guitar, and even the lyrics.

I think of Vanity 6 everytime I hear 'Milkshake' by Kelis... Imagine Brenda on lead vocals with the 'Nasty Girl' beat underneath!

I can't think of anything more recent at the minute though. Oh - the Shaznay Lewis song reminds me of Prince. It sounds like the sort of thing he would have given away to some starlet in the late 80s.
