Radio and Broadcast TV Sound

Have you ever noticed Prince's sound when broadcast on certain Radio & TV Spots is sometimes turned down?

Radio: Back in the day. You'd hear back to back Janet Jackson or George Michael come through beautifully. Then the DJ would spin a Prince track circa: 1986-1996 and the sound would be off, faint or washed out. Don't touch that dial. The problems not with your tuner. I'd notice this in cities and stations up and down the east coast A friend of mine at WBCN in Boston said he noticed it too and it could have been due to the DJ turning the sound up in the booth.

TV: For years I had Sony, Mitsubishi & Toshiba systems and whenever Prince was due to appear, his sound was sometimes bad. Sometimes they would preview a new video and there would be background hiss during his video while all the others would be fine. Anyone else notice this? As for certain shows.. i can remember a few.

1991 Special Olympics
1987 MTV Music Video Awards
1989 SNL
1995 American Music Awards

The sound problems on the Special Olympics broadcast were because of the storm and the storm warning.

But I personally think your imagining things. It sounds like another Oliver Stone type conspiracy theory of the man keeping Prince down that people have come up with.

Its the control room feed if anything on the radio. Back then equipment was much different than it is today so its nothing to do with the signal being boosted or anything.
