Prince and Stevie Wonder?

I'm sure that this is a mistake by the author. In Craig Werner's book Higher Ground he mentions a duet between Prince and Stevie Wonder (Page 173, bottom paragraph). Did Prince and Stevie ever sing together? If so I missed it!

Not according to my information. The two did met eachother and jammed together on stage, but no signs of recording a song. It would be awesome though !!! nod

Whoops. I should have said it was a live duet. Sorry.

I think Prince did remix the song "Cold Chill" for Stevie but it hasn't seen the light of day.

It's one of those boots I had on my old computer and never burned it on cd before I got rid of it, so I don't have it anymore. If I remember correctly it was during the mid-90s, tho I can't remember the club. It's worth having, and not only because of who's involved, but because it's one of the better quality sounding boots (at least the copy I had was), and because the performance was good. I don't remember the length of time it went.

Prince "Stevie this is for you; you're welcome to come get some"
cool track- band just jam the cool funk groove for the first couple of minutes til Stevie hits the stage/mic. Stevie completely kisses Princes arse, saying how much Prince inspirers him, placing him amongst the likes of Duke Ellington, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson etc and preaching how much music needs Prince now. This preachy love fest goes on until about 5 minutes into the track where the singing begins and the song really takes off (Stevie on lead vocals)
About 6 and a 1/2 minutes in Prince lets rip on some legendary guitaring.
Wonder if this was filmed, would love to see it.

There is a studio duet with Stevie and Prince. Prince admitted so in a 1995 interview during the Ultimate Live experience tour. Must be historic! The live duet certainly was!!

I don't know anything about that with all the unreleased stuff. But I can say Stevie is just as much genius as Prince and I would love to hear it.

No, but they did write songs about each other.

"I just called to say I love U" was written by Stevie about Prince.
"Jack U Off" was written by Prince about Stevie.

THey're quite fond of each other's talent.

- yeah, he played guitar on ´Cold Chill´...but the song never saw the light of day...
On the liner notes of ´Conversation Peace´ Stevie praises Prince a lot and insinuates they jammed together. He says:
"I thought hearts like yours no longer exists. Thank you for sharing your gift of incredible genius and music with me"
Cool, huh? smile

Cold Chill was on the album if I recall correctly. Don't have it here to check but I'm pretty sure it's on there, towards the end of the album.
