I was on Amazon.com the other day and found the 11 track 1-800 New Funk cd and put it in my basket. As i was about to purchase i remembered hearing about a Japanese edition with 3 bonus tracks. I've looked it up and nowhere has it in stock (not new anyway) since naturally i want the best version. Could someone tell me whether the bonus track of Most Beautiful Girl is exclusive to the Japanese ed. i.e it's not one of the mixes on the Beuatiful Experience EP. As this is the only track that interests me on the Japanese ed. i was wondering whether it's worthing waiting for to show up on ebay.

Well, it depends on how much of a completist you are as to whether it's worth it or not.

The version of 'The Most Beautiful Girl In The Wold' on the Japanese version of 1-800-NEW-FUNK
is the "Sax Mix" (featuring Brian Gallagher), and this is the only place it was commericially
released (It's not one of the mixes on The Beautiful Experience). The only other way of
getting this particular mix was on a 5 track promo of 'The Most Beautiful Girl In The World'
which surfaced prior to 'The Beautiful Experience' being released.

It's basically the instrumental backing track to the regular single version of 'The Most Beautiful
Girl In The World', with Brian Gallagher playing a solo throughout which starts off based on the
vocal melody. Eric Leeds later did his own similar version which was released as 'Beautiful Girl'
on the b-side to the NPG's 'Get Wild' single.

The 3 bonus tracks on the Japanese version of 1-800-NEW-FUNK are:

Standing At The Altar (Extended Version) - Margie Cox
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Sax Mix) - & Brian Gallagher
The Most Beautiful Boy In The World - Mayte

I remember seeing a japanese import of The Beautiful Experience with 2 bonus remixes (which weren't on the UE & US versions), back in 1994, but i have never heard of these since. I don't think it was Brian & Mayte's versions but i can't swear it, does somebody know ???
