I used my Mac to do this with the following software: SoundStudio Pro, iTunes and Toast.

1. Copied uncompressed audio from Lovesexy CD to desktop.
2. Opened uncompressed sound file in SoundStudio Pro.
3. Copied-and-pasted audio from the one long track into 9 individual files. Saved each separately.
4. Used Toast to burn a new audio CD from the 9 individual tracks with 0 pause between tracks. This gave me a "master" Lovesexy CD that was fully tracked with no pauses inbetween the tracks (especially important for the tracks that run together like Eye No and Alphabet St.)
5. Used iTunes to rip MP3s from my tracked CD. (Well, actually, I made AAC files, which can be set at higher bitrates and occupy just over half the disk space of a similarly encoded MP3 file, and they sound better, too.)

The entire process took me perhaps 30 minutes.

Yep, it's not hard to get a tracked copy in Europe.

I tracked it using Roxio 6. There a program that ties into AudioCentral that does it.

I don't know anything about MP3s but I can tell you to get yourself a CD burner for your stereo system. Burn the original CD onto another CD and insert the track numbers yourself. That's what I did.

You can't dub it. If you do, it will be the same as the original with only one track. You will need a whole seperate CD player altogether to record it from. If you don't have another CD player, you can record it from a turntable if you have the album on vinyl or even a tape deck if you have the album on cassette.

Then take your new CD and do whatever it takes to convert it to MP3s.

Good luck.

Yeah, but you should be able to order the European version from somewhere, I'd have thought.

It's definitely worth it and it's great to have an official, tracked version.

Isn't the German version of this tracked? I want to get it, but I'll be pissed off paying import money for the exact same version I have.

The initial release was not tracked.
Later on a tracked version is released, but you never can be sure if a LoveSexy cd is tracked or not if you buy it at the internet ....

The Lovesexy CD was never tracked in America.

To track it properly:
1. get a MAC
2. Create an AIFF file through SoundJam or Itunes
3. Open the AIFF in Sound Studio... select all and amplify the volume about 10 – 12%
4. Select individual tracks down to the 1/100th of a second, copy paste into a new file
5. Save and name the songs individually
6. Drop those files into Toast and change the 2 second gap between songs to 0 seconds
7. Add The 12" singles and B-sides (outtakes if you got 'em)

Walah... a perfectly tracked, remastered, Special Edition, Lovesexy CD.

In stock, dirt cheap and they ship internationally for regular postage rates. I just received my tracked version from them 2 weeks ago. Make sure you order this version and not the US import. If in doubt, email them and confirm that the back of the rear insert has 7599-25720-2 WE 835 printed in the top left corner. (The CD still says "songs are in a continuous sequence" for some reason)
