SIGN O THE TIMES ON DVD - DOLBY DIGITAL - LONDON HMV only £16.99

This is the Dutch DVD which is video quality but has very good sound.. I'm more than happy with it as its better than having a video copy...

It also has scene access

ps, HMV in Oxford Street, London have 7 copies of this DVD available for £16.99 each.

Well worth it!

Jumped the gun and bought (presumably) this edition about a month ago (No.. not from Ebay) From Red Eye Records in Sydney for $45 AU (as opposed 2 around $30AU when it gets released nationally in Oz in August???). There are plenty of glitches throughout (ala my original video copy). But any Prince on DVD is worth it, especially this gig.

I wanna buy the DVD next week but is it worth it or not???
If the sounds good then I don´t care if the picture is the same as on VHS.

Yes, the sound is REALLY GOOD!!!!

You get Scene Access, trailer... but the Video quality is still good!!!

It's still worth it.... I thought it would be bad but it was surprisingly good!!!

Defi worth buying .. I dont regret paying 16.99 and I usually think twice about buying stuf like this...

go get it and post your review on this board...

I'm very disappointed by this release.
Mot important: It's sped up!!!!!
Same speed as Moonraker's Wonderboy .... If you love the Chipmunks, you'll love this release (especially "It's gonna be a beautiful night", which is in fact already sped up in the theatre-version)
The picture-quality is really bad too.

I Like the Brazilian release even better. Sure, this one is very dark, but the speed is correct and there are no picture-disturbances.

The ultimate release is yet to come.

Yeah I was just about post that as well, I got mine from Tower Records in Dublin today for 15.99 EURO.

Shame it hasn't been remastered but at least it's being made available again for all his new fans seeing how the VHS version has been deleted over here for ages. And I miss the quote on the cover "makes Michael Jackson look nailed to the floor".

I can understand if they can't get hold of a decent print of the movie, but you'd have thought
that they could've at least sourced it from the original laserdisc release! I mean, VHS!!!!
Come on! (and speeded up PAL VHS at that!!).

I made my own DVD from a laser-disc transfer mpeg, which I'll enjoy until an official release.

Seriously folks, save your money.

It's grainy, it has VHS "twitches" all over it, and its speeded up. I got as far as Play in the sunshine before I gave up.

I'm watching it on a 50" plasma, which granted, makes it look worse, but my VHS copy looks far better.

indeed .. but my best copy is still a taped broadcasted version ... it's superior to both the VHS and the Dutch DVD.

I'm thinking about "upgrading" the brazilian DVD: making it brighter, 'cause the speed is alright and there are no twitches. Problem is the bad mono-sound of this release.

Some day a perfect version will be released .... maybe even a real concert registration without the overdubs and anoying crowd-shots
