why is it that Princes new cd or singles get no airplay in Germany? While they play Lenny Kravitz old stuff and Where Are We Runnin and California up and down everyday ??? kinda strange i think...  Bounce party y'all

It's all about promotion! I think Prince's promotional work has mainly been focused in the usa - with things like posters/art of musicolgy/radio singles/musicology video being used over in europe (at least the UK). but he needs to come over here and tour, then the promo wagon will begin over here! the media will be more interested and with the success of the american tour I think europe will welcome him back with open arms - if it's done right!
he should go on talk shows and music shows aswell. I could see the musicology album going back up the charts again, maybe hit the top ten! we will see. | |

Also, and this is wishing a bit much but, if Prince actually stayed over here (ie. rented a house in London) and stayed for a year or so, playing gigs across UK and europe, then he would reap vast rewards from this. He would be in the media/music spotlight and could actually do some damage (show what a genius he is - fuck popidol, robbie williams and will young) these whirlwind tours over the last tens years have not helped to cement him into the public consciounce. | |

the media does have a firm grasp on heavy rotation. when Prince has the time, he could easily sweep Germany (maybe more than the states? to scale, that is!) with his music and face all over tv and radio. then put out a boomin track for the clubs and it's in the bag!!! but, i fear that before he gets here, he will have moved on to the next phase/album/whatever and 'Musicology' will have passed us up. spring 2005 will then be a year after the release, and you know what THAT means?
