Come On (Remix) questions Can someone explain the "Thinkin' we was Angela D and H Rap Brown" line in the Come On Remix?
How about "just like his last name says, he'll burn" - whose last name? And what's up with the "makin' mozarella while the haters make waste" line? I'm vegan too, and last I checked, mozarella is made of dairy... But then, so is cream cheese, and he mentions that in Pearls B4 The Swine...

The only one I can address is the "..he'll burn.." line. It's a reference to Los Angeles Times entertainment critic Robert Hilburn, who seemed to be a huge Prince fan until 1992 or so and then turned sour on him much like Loder did.

I think these are interesting questions because Prince has received a lot hate from his fans concerning his rapping or "rhythmic speaking" as he likes to call it.
But when you break it down, just like all the rest of his art, you find that a lot of times his rhyming is actually very clever and in many ways goes over a lot of people's heads. If someone knows some of the basic slangs/ebonics they could probably understand some of what he's talking about a lot better (as in the case of the use of the word "mozarella"). But on an artistic level, whether you like to hear Prince rap or not, the "Come On" rap is very deep. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
