Is Prince back-sliding on the family-friendly front? He reportedly slipped some sexual imagery into the New Orleans stop on his "Musicology Tour," which is billed as a less raunchy show that reflects his maturity and his current commitment to Jehovah's Witnesses. D.C.-based celebrity journalist Jawn Murray was taken aback by what he heard when Symbolina performed at the Essence Music Festival on July 2. "I was surprised he performed some of the cuts he did because I know he was supposed to be pulling some of the more risque songs out of his set," Murray told me. "He performed that song, 'Shhh,' which he penned for Tevin Campbell." These lyrics are definitely not for the under 18 set, but if you're an adult, check out the unedited excerpts Murray posted Tuesday on his "Jawn's Juice" column at www.EURweb.com. "The lyrics to "Shhh" may "raise eyebrows of other door-to-door pamphlet givers," states Murray's Web site. But Murray joined media everywhere in raving about the performance: "The concert was amazing. Absolutely phenomenal. Oh my goodness. Boy, was it a good show." A Friday AP story reports that on CBS's "Early Show" on Tuesday, Symbolina will again state that he feels a responsibility to perform in manner to which he would like his own children exposed. Symbolina's business partner/NYC attorney Londell McMillan did not respond for comment on the alleged inconsistency.
