Have to agree, I never liked it when I first heard it and it still does nothing for me. Have to say that about half of PR album though.

Exactly! I was 16 and I thought: this sounds wa-hay too weird!? I didn't have a clue who "Joni" was either, haha. Things got better now. The Ballad of DP now is my all-time favourite Prince song, and boy do I appreciate 'Joni's' music! (chelsea morning, urge for going etc, ACE!)

I know this is sacreligious for a Prince fan, but I didn't like Purple Rain that much before. Now I think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever!

Almost everything after "Purple Rain". Before "Purple Rain", I liked everything immediately. After "Purple Rain", I have to listen to the albums and let them grow on me. Andy is a four letter word.

I didn't like "Diamonds and Pearls" when it was first released. I would quickly turn the radio station whenever it came on. It's one of my favorites now!

Jughead.
I thought it was positively awful the first time I heard it. Then I listened to New Power Soul, and now in comparison, I belive Jughead to be the pinacle of artistic achievement.
