I wanna be surprised. If he tries to please others with a guitar-oriented album it won't work if he's not feeling it. The only thing I'd like to see eventually is for him to get back in the studio with Wendy & Lisa to see if there's anything left there. It'd be a shame if they didn't atleast try. That way we either get great music or those who have been hoping for such a reunion can move on.

Heavy guitar stuff with atttitde and sick riffs. Then mix in a bunch of synths and maybe a touch of industrial.

I'll be happy with good structured songs and no more of the laboured funk workouts he likes to do. Just good songs like he used to do in the day, and less of the jams he started to introduce in the 90's.
But I wanna hear something new in the production. No more re-hashing the 80's vibe (like musicology) but creating a new sound thats still distinctly prince...I know its a tall order, but if he's half as good as we know him to be, then it shouldnt be a problem

In response to Q4, the fact that Prince has mentioned the next album is to be specifically for the fans, suggests that Musicology was designed to reach a broader audience. Whether fans like it or not, is besides the point.
