I just don't think it's a very good song. I'm a big fan of the Batman soundtrack, and this is the only song I skip through. The lyrics are corny and produce a lot of bad imagery. I also don't really like the arrangement (rare for a Prince song), and the music just doesn't suit me at all. Radio in the Twin Cities has never been super kind to Prince, but they played this song out! The way WLOL played it back when it was out, you would have thought it was the biggest #1 of all time.

No hate here. I think it is one of his best albums!!!

No hate here either, I this song and the pictures that come to mind when i play it. Imagine a love so strong that in spite of everything happening in the universe, there's these arms that hold true lovers together. Even when they are physically apart a union exists in the highest realm.

Waayyyy to sugary sweet...song gives me a toothache when I listen to it. Of all the things in Prince's career I never have figured out how he hooked up (and subsequently sluttified) the "girl next door" Scottish pop singer known for "The Morning Train". Getting her to go out on a career limb and sing a song about her vagina may be one of his greatest and, at the same time, most useless career moves of his career.

Back to Arms of Orion, I don't know why the song wasn't a bigger hit because half the girls in my high school were singing it in the halls back in 1989.

I love the Batman album to death, but I skip right past this sugar coma of a dirge - I HATE IT! I think it's sappy, pappy, prom-night soundin' poo-poo - a roadbump on an otherwise smooth as hell soundtrack album.

No need to explain. It's just godawful crap of the worst kind. horrible, embarrasing and something your granny would like. Avoid. I have for 15 years, but the horrible memory has been reawakened.

Yeah it mushy...but you have to remember that it for a film so that dictates what feeling its going to have.

Besides thats teh reason I like it...its mushy...it fits break-ups,seperation, wanting someone you cant have etc etc - and its served its purpose for me time and time again

I really like it

It starts out okay. There's some pretty lyrics and nice harmonizing. But after the dull bridge where they sing in unison, it just goes all to hell. The vocals sound meandering and unrehearsed, like two people who can't hear each other are both singing a song they never heard before. Then it winds up with that long, pointless synth coda. To me, it's a low spot on an otherwise decent album.

Hey Batman is okay with me
and Scandalous is a good song
Its especially good to be a sound track

This is the kind of song God taps his toe to, while the devil vomits in disgust. It sucks!

Add me to the list (albeit a short one, I gather) of the people who like this song. My secretary and I used to sing this song together at work. Everyone knew we were big Prince fans and whenever they wanted a good laugh, they'd convince us to "sing that funny little Prince tune about the arms!" Since she and I both have voices that would have eliminated during the first round of 'American Idol', I guess I could see the humor for them. However, my secretary and I just thought we were throwing down. Too funny.
