An error on the "Prince" CD

Has anyone noticed that on the "Prince" CD, the song "Still Waiting" is the single version and not the album version? Also, just a fine hair of the beginning is cut off...it doesn't start clean.

Has anyone else noticed this or is my copy just defective?

Yeah, I've brought this up before here on the Org. They're all like that, not just your copy! The clipped intro really bothers me especially since "Still Waiting" is one of my favorites from the album.
Remasters, where are you?!?!?

On the single version, the intro is cut shorter than the album version. On the album (vinyl) version, the music repeats itself before the singing starts. I think there is a cut later on in the song.

I used to have the 45 years ago and it is definately different than the album version. I still have all my Prince LPs and 45s and 12 Inches that have non-album B Sides. I gave away all my 45s that didn't have B sides except for "Controversy" because it is cut so well.

I gave away my 45 of "Still Waiting" because it is not much different than the album version.

2 things wrong with "Still Waiting":

1. The guitar intro is clipped off at the very beginning (as if somebody had pressed the record button after the song had already started).

2. The instrumental portion before the 1st verse starts is edited. Only half of it is on the CD.

A top of the range vinyl beats a top of the range CD

at the end of the day - a CD uses digital sampling whereas an Analogue recording is a true image.

Go clean your ears out and listen to a real turntable rather than a technics SL1200 and you'll see what we mean !

Pish. A true image? Grooves or 0s and 1s, it's all the same - not the original sound.
