A Nice Little Story I was reminded of this when I broke out an old vinyl of "For You" thought i'd share it.
My mom's boyfriend told me this about three years ago and I just now remembered it. (Yes, my mother still dates! ) When Gary (my moms boyfriend) was younger....his sister used 2 work at a McDonalds in Oakland, Ca. She entered a contest and won. Her prize was a copy of the then unknown Prince's album "For You". It was for her 2 sample and see if she liked it or not. Gary told me when she brought it home he put it on the turn tables and couldn't stop listening 2 it. Whenever his friends would come over he would play it 4 them adn would ask "Who is this?" and he would say "I dunno...but the cat can sing!" A couple months after that they heard one of the songs from the album play on the radio, his friends asked him "Where did U get that?" and he said "I dunno...my sister brought it home." yay

Yeah, that was back in the good 'ol days. People were able to make their own decisions about music back then, now it's all corporate media suggesting to people very strongly, what they should listen to. I enjoyed the story.
