...been a double album..Purple Rain...cuz its supposed 2 b a soundtrack...soundtracks usually have every song n the movie on the cd..purple rain on has princes...so i think it shoulda been a double album..half with the prince songs..and half with the movie songs..

The whole thing about a "double" album of Purple Rain is just a myth. It was always intended to be a single disc. The acetate that was in circulation a few years back was proven to be a fake.

If the album had been a double, it wouldn't have sold half as well, and PR wouldn't be the legendary piece of pop culture that it is today.
