So it's the broadcast that I have. All this time I thought it was the official Livesexy show.
There is a dutch speaking guy saying a few credits at the begginning, middle and end.

I personally thought it was only an ok concert-musically- in comparison but it was still very good. Here in NYC I remember the stage was more or less round and Prince stayed to one side(thank GOD I was on that side 12th row). It was cool with all the props, bsketball court, bed, etc. The best part was ANNASTESIA and how the piano just elevated above the stage.

Even though Prince favored one side more then the other, it doesn't take away from this being the greatest show ever.

I was 15th row on the opposite side, but Prince was all over the stage, and stayed quite a bit in the center. Anna Stesia was the highlight of the show, with the stage lifting him up (closer to God). I never even had the thought: hey, I couldn't see him during this part of the show. He may have walked to parts of the stage furthest from me, but I could still see him.

I walked away a changed man, spiritually enlightened, and overwhelmed with happiness. There hasn't been a concert SINCE, including Prince himself, that I've walked away from, feeling like that.

So for that fact alone, it was the greatest show EVER!

slick and smooth ... that's how it looks ...

too many Medleys .... songs don't get the attention they deserve in the first half of the show .... the second half proves that Prince looses his talent, because the songs in the first half are far superior.

In 1988 I found this tour fantastic ... now I can't watch the second part anymore ... and I hate the religious nonsense. Used to love the piano-medley too .... nowadays it looks silly ....
(and I even attended the broadcasted show, among others)

Watch a Controversy-tour concert ... raw bad-ass funky!!!!

The best concert I've ever been to. Sign O The Times got cancelled here in London, so can't compare them, but the movie convinced me that it was definitely up there with Lovesexy 88. My favourite band of his no question - 1988 was probably my best year as a fan - Black album, Lovesexy, Lovesexy live and Sign O The Times at the movies - such fun

The videos are both great - great moments for me: Opening with Erotic City (and the Sex Shooter dance), the splits in Housequake, Delirious, Sister, The Cross, Several moments with the lighting like the end of Glam Slam and Anna Stesia. All joyous.

well, i was 16 when the album was released. somewhere and somehow i got my hands on a copy of the LOVESEXY concert on VHS. i think it may have been playing on HBO. i can't remember. anyway, i have 2 say i had never and have never seen ANYTHING like it. the GLAM SLAM video is from this particular concert. ANNA STASIA was the most moving performance i have EVER seen. it shook me 2 my soul and still does when i see it. in purple lights, he and the piano ascended far above the audience on a hydraulic lift. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

i wasn't there 2 witness it live but that LIVE performance was the best i've EVER seen.
i've been a fan since i was 7 (1979).
fanactic at 11 (1983).
would lay my life down 4 the man after seeing the LOVESEXY CONCERT at 16 (1988).
i've since calmed down...
