I want to meet prince.

I desperatly need to meet Prince, after being a fan for almost ten years and attending 6 concerts I thought I would have met him by now. Does anyone have advice on how to meet a mega superstar?
Haters travel in packs and they are offended or threatened by klhk, haters express intense hostility toward the subject of hate. Haters are annoyed and roll thier eyes when klhk is paid a compliment. ask yourself, are u a hater?

Go to a Paisley Park party. He's usually walking around at some point and you could approach him.

But you'd better be cool or else his bodyguards will jump all over you. If you start freaking out, screaming, or fainting in front him, you wont get anywhere. He'll at least acknowledge you, but after a minute or so, he'll move on.

I didn't do it while I was there, but I saw people, and was near them when they did.

Wow, and I don't.
I like the mysterious persona. I don't want to meet him and think "MAN is he short" or "Wow, he has a block head". LOL
I love him just fine in photos, videos, and especially on stage.
I have listened to some of his interviews... He is sounding so darn normal/average these days it is almost scary. (jk).
I guess he is getting into "I'm just a musician in love with my craft-- forget the stardom" mode but I personally like the stardom mode. cool

I'd be a little shy too...don't know if I could approach him though. Now if I had more than a fleeting fan moment and could actually talk to him...I'd probably talk to him about his music and songs, which he never really talks about. Just an honest conversation about his career and what he thinks about certain periods and what his ideas were. Don't really care about anything personal.

Don't get caught up in any "I want to meet Prince" shit. Some people were meant to meet him and others aren't. Karma, I guess. If you spend your money going to Paisley and spending more money on buying tickets to lots of shows, in the hopes that Prince will notice you, forget it.

Like I said, if you have what it takes to get noticed, cool. But if you don't. Don't make a fool of yourself trying where you'll never succeed.

I've really no wish to meet him. I'm a fan because of the music and that's it. If I actually spoke to him I'd be terribly tongue tied and would make a tit of myself!! lol Also I remember reading that he was terribly rude to a fan who said to him that he or she really liked Emancipation and his response was 'Your point would be what?' Now that's cruel... disbelief

I kinda agree with this. I think that most times Prince notices you, for whatever reason. But it's probably a bad idea to follow him around waiting for this acknowledgment. You'll only likely be disappointed in the end (and it's kinda stalkery). I think it's fine to go to Paisley and to go to concerts, because these are usually incredible experiences, and you meet lots of great people. That's actually the best part, meeting other Prince fans. (And heck, you may have some Prince interaction. wink- which will result in a cool story to tell your friends.) But, I think the main goal should be to just have a good time, meet regular folks, and enjoy the music.

My sentiments exactly. I've spoken 2 P probably 4times since the Xenaphobia Celly's. I'll say something that triggers a memory from a Paisley Park experience. I've gotten the 5second response and the most 4me 20 plus seconds of response! But pleeze don't stalk!

the people i like most are the ones who have been fans of prince for a couple of decades, have seen a couple hundred shows, and Still have no particular interest in meeting him face to face -- mono on mono. they just appreciate and respect the music, and leave the man alone.

you like him because he's given you something (i.e. music, his performances, maybe his films, or simply his eccentric ways). what would you give him in your "meeting?" i tend to leave my heroes alone -- what could i say to him that really hasn't been said to him before? that is, in the context of your: "desparate NEED to meet prince." what makes it that dire?

all i can say is, turn on lovesexy, turn off the lights -- and just get down. with yourself. with a boy or a girl. or with the heavens above...

Sometimes meeting your hero, the "mega star" that you admire the most, is not what you imagine it will be, and you might even end up getting dissed or ignored.

my encounter with Prince, after a concert in 2000, he showed up at a club, he tried to walk in without anyone noticing, it was dark , he was dressed in black, walking between his bodyguards, no one noticed him walk in,I know that strut from a mile away, I had to say something, a chance of a lifetime, I said " whats up brotha," he looked up to see if I was for real and nodded.

i met prince at the excalibur night club in chicago at an after party for a concert at the park west. prince and his body guard walked into the room and my wife and me were sitting on a balcony. prince didn't notice us because we were above and behind him. it was just me, my wife, prince and his body guard. " i said what's up prince!" and he said hello. I told him that it was a great show and he humbly said thank you. i extended my hand to give him a pound and he just looked at me and smiled. we hung out with the band until about 4 a.m. we all watched the video of that nights concert. prince brought a cd with some new songs on it. the work pr 1 was on the cd. prince was drinking iced tea and joking around with the NPG.
there were about 20 people in the room all total. prince didn't really say much, but he seemd like a nice guy. i got to see the band off stage in a relaxed manner. prince is truly the boss. what he says goes and they all respect him as the boss. they are all quite down to earth. prince has to play the part of the star, so he is somewhat aloof at times.

KLHK, how are you?

You know Prince walked right by me without bodyguards , i mean right by me as we walked to opposite ends of the back of his paisley park concert hall, and i didn't even notice until he had passed me by a foot or two... because i was entranced by victor wooten and his brother on the stage... I missed my chance to say , hey.

I met him at the end of the JOTY tour back in 98. The afterparty was at "Het Magazijn" in Ghent, Belgium. My sister in law is co-owner of the bar and works there. She called me and said that Prince and his entourage would be there after the show and it would be closed to the public. I thought she was joking, but she kept on saying it was for real and told me I could be one of the waiters that night. So after the concert we drove as fast as we could to the bar (15 minutes by car from the concert hall) and brought him a cola in a bottle with a straw. He sent me back to get him a vacuum packed straw (don't mind wrong spelling, I'm Dutch speaking). My sister in law's fiancee had hired a DJ from Brussels that was very expencive to play the music they would like, but instead Prince insisted on playing the then unreleased RUTJF cd. It was a thrilling exprience for me, but my sister in law and her fiancee have sworn to never let him in again. At some point, we were all forced to leave the room, wich made them very angry, not to be able to walk in their own bar. The next day, Prince went downtown to a lingerieshop to buy zebra-striped underwear. The woman in the shop didn't recognise him. She knew he was someone important, because at first one of his bodyguards came in to check if no customers were in the shop (there was nobody in at the time) and then Prince strolled in. She asked if she could be of some assistence and he let her help choose the underwear. She then asked if he was intrested in the new forthcoming collection, but he kindly thanked her and said no. She said he was extremely pollight and a real gentlemen. She only figured out later that day who he was by reading a review of the concert he gave the night before.
