Worst final encore ever at a Prince concert?

For me, it would have to be the Atlanta concert where "Push" was the last song played. No one believed the concert was over after that song.

Any others?

Release Yourself in 1998, at my wife's first Prince concert. As a non-fan, I'd hoped the concert would convert her. An obscure cover song from an out-of-print 70's funk album for an encore clearly didn't do the job. I'm hoping Musicology will do the trick next month, although she's trying to convince me to trade my tickets for Red Sox seats (now I love the Red Sox as much as anyone, but that's not gonna happen).

By the way, when was Push played as the final encore? I thought it was only ever played as part of a long medley which included some other great songs to end the show...

Worst?

I hate most of the "jams" that go on for too long, often bolted onto Baby I'm a Star. You never know when it was going to end, and when it did, Prince had usually left the stage a couple of mins before, giving himself a bit of time to get out of the building first.

It was particularly bad in the Nude Tour. But some of the nights on the One Night Alone tour did it too. Especially on All The Critics.

On most dates of the Diamonds and Pearls tour. My Rotterdam boot ends with "Push".

What about "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" on the Sign "O" The Times tour"? Sure, that's a good song, but why have that last when you've got a finale as perfect as "Adore"?

Worst for me was when he finished with All the critics love u at the end of one of the London ONA shows. I couldn't believe it, I don't even like the song and was waiting for the final song to finish it on a high. Then the lights came on and people started leaving. I was like, "oh, is that it?" sad
RIP sad

purple rain. he needs to open with that song and get it over with. let the last song be a surprise rather than "oh, he'll end with purple rain...again."

I hate the fact that Prince ended his second Sydney show in 2003 with a jam with Larry Graham, it was absolutely dismal.

To top it of he didn't play purple Rain in this show?

At the RRHOF after show. He ended with a horrible Vegas-style Soul Man and left the building.
