Me too, on a serious level. But, before that, I always like his stuff.....not until 9 years ago did I become semi-obsessed.

Prints

13 years , since The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, when I heard the singles from D&P, I wish the russians printed some Prince records in the 80s.

We never really heard him on the radio.

Since 1979, age 4. My mother & sister introduced me to his music. I must admit at times I do miss his raw, edgy sound. I also prefer his non-hits more than his hits.

Since 1980 based on the radio play only. NYC radio did not (and still does not) play Prince, at least not enough for me or anyone interested. Back in the day, Frankie Crocker or someone at WBLS would hit you with a joint that they loved when an album was releaseed, but Prince was not on the regular rotation.

I became an offical hardcore Fam since Feb of 1983!!! Headphones on all the time biggrin

Thank you to my high school Friend Erika V. who said to me - you must hear this....

21 years later - my family - mom, husband, sisters (who are now Fam) can't beleive that I am still into the music.

Until the end of time, I'll be there 4 U..... .

Hmm...I'd say since 82-83. I was feeling 1999/Little Red Corvette...but I really remmeber Delirious! lol...but then Purple Rain came and it was over. I was like "is this man about to get out of the bathtub in the video?" I used to wait for him to come on "Friday Nite Videos" on NBC. that was the best show....been true ever since. I remember being in school in 3rd grade (1984) and constantly tellin my classmates "PRINCE IS NOT GAY" LOL....wow. And I am only 26 now!

I base EVERYONE on Prince. U should 2.
Tsk Tsk, What a pity...sometimes Life can be so shitty....

Prince didn't hit Europe untill he brought out 1999.

I wasn't convinced by that. I thought it waws just another brother holding the mic. A few months later i saw a videoclip of purple Rain and I felt so much love I fell for it big time! From that moment I had a lot to discover. His 'new' work, but definitly also his albums he already made in the past. Thay all sounded so good to me... I would love him also If would know him much earlier. Unfortunally I had to wait untill 1984

So 1984 - 2004 = about 20 years and still counting...

20 years is a lot in a lifetime, therefor I can say he is a very big influence in my life ....
My father said he would only last a year on top .... (little did he know)

And I'm proud he is still around! nod
