I've been a fan for 20 years, since I was about 8 or 9 which is the time when I saw him on the awards show performing purple rain.

22 years, I was 9 years old when I saw the video for Little Red Corvette and I thought
now that is the man I wanna marry...

I have been a hardcore Prince fan since i was in highschool back in the early 80's.

Over a year, I don't really know.

my parents played Prince's music for me when i was younger, but i only really got into him last august.

1981 and counting!!!

I've grown up listening to Prince cause my mom was a fan, but i started buying my own prince stuff when i watched Gett Off and Cream on video and Once i got the album i was hooked!


so i have been a prince fan for 14 years OMG i hadn't realised that i was getting older till that minute i worked out how long ago diamonds and pearls came out!

When I was about seven years old, my older brother gave me a tape of purple rain shortly after it came out. As a kid, and one who always looked up to his brother, I listened to this tape over and over, non-stop. Now I am 26 years old, I'm an avid fan, and Prince's music has been such a big part of my life over the years...and of course, I thank my brother for it.

First exposed to him in 1986.

First time it was "all over" in 1990 because of "GB".

That video was SO cool, back in the day! MTV was still pretty new and Prince was the coolest guy on there! He still would be today... if they ever played his videos!

Since 1984, when I was 5. Wow, 20 years. That's insane. When I saw When Doves Cry on MTV, I was hooked.

Since 1982... I'll be 31 in October. Releasing an album a year, many of us have literality grown up listening to Prince.

Oh! I'm so depressed now!! Seems like a million years ago!!

Since I was 13, 1979, First listen to the album and I was hooked, So my whole Life has been 1 Great album after another year after year, after year, whew. And if he keeps it up I guess I will be listening to him in the afterlife, because he shows no signs of aging, or slowing down, so I have a sinking feeling he will out-live me! LOL.

I was four at the time. My mom started playin the Batman soundtrack and When Doves Cry a whole lot 'til I straight fell in LOVE with the man.

Fifteen years, and still crazy about him!

15-20 years, depending on if you count casual or hooked first.

Casual fan: I remember being 5 and seeing "When Doves Cry" on tv-hadn't seen or heard anything like it before-wondered who this guy in the tub was. The visuals and music both were like candy to me. When "Raspberry Beret" came out on MTV I was fascinated. Same candy feeling again. Pure fun. That and I remember getting an early crush on Wendy. Kept an interest when I saw him on tv-"Kiss" especially since Wendy was in it too.

Hooked: 1989-I was 10. Batman was my first Prince album and I remember laying on my bed reading my Batman comics and just blasting the album on headphones. That right there completely changed what I thought music could be-love or hate the album, I was 10 and this was a whole new world I wanted to explore more of. Been hooked ever since.
