All the way back to 1979 when I heard "I Wanna Be Your Lover" on the radio. Then in January 1980, I saw him on American Bandstand and was totally impressed by his appearance.
"Dirty Mind" was the first album I bought....then I was hooked and went back and bought "Prince". I bought "Controversy" within the first week of it's release. During that era I heard a DJ on the radio play "Soft and Wet". Until then, I had always thought "Prince" was the first album...so immediately I went and bought "For You". After that, I bought every 45 and 12 Inch as soon as it was available. That's when I discovered the B Sides. I bought every album the day of it's release. Andy is a four letter word. | |

I heard a song and saw a clip I really liked in 1982 (1999) but didn´t know who
He was.2years later someone gave me the Purple Rain album just 2 listen 2 and the damage was done...Prince crazy 4 life!!! Bought 7inches and 12 inches,albums,special issues..EVERYTHING!! He has been a part of my life just like family and whenever I felt down He gave me strenght,whenever I wanted 2 party..He sure was there. 
It has been a wonderful ride,YES even in the second half of the 90`s when people thought`he lost it´-and I´m still on it. I´m a music fan with more than 600 CD´s in my collection but really..NOTHING COMPARES 2 HIM!!!! Love4oneanother | |

July, 1984...P-Day
Much like Anxiety, I had heard some of Controversy and 1999, but not until Purple Rain came out did my life change. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |
