and if you ever listened the song, you don't need to be Hendrix to play the guitar for Morphine. Same with the drums

That's bcuz he does'nt. And just bcuz he credits his damn self on his album don't mean a thing. Alot of artist take credit 4shit that they did'nt do. And MJ has always been about the over HYPE! He is the king of it! Know i am a hard core P fan who while growing up was a hardcore MJ fan, so i'm not on any crusade 2 diss MJ. I'm just tryin 2 enlighten u 2tha TRUTH. Look playa MJ learned the Moonwalk from Jeffery Daniels of Shalamar. Him and MJ was associates and moderately close bcuz of thier mutual respect 4 1anothers moves. J. Daniels has said that MJ does'nt play instruments but uses his voice like an instrument. JD said that MJ plays a little Piano but that's it!...All of these people that i've mentioned have no reason 2 lie. Now the reason that the subject of MJ and playin instruments came up is bcuz we was debating the difference between 2 of the greatest Black artist in the history of music(it was balck history month). We were in Japan gig'n and funkin up the Asians ya dig. So i'm just relaying the info 2 u playa. Now u believe what u want 2! But i won't believe MJ plays anything but Piano on a very average level! So now i am thru with this debate! "The Truth always comes out sooner or later"

If you don't belive the liner notes than I have every right to say Prince doesnt write his songs. But let's not fool our selves. Coz MJ play them and P writes those songs. And Moonwalk aint got nothing to do with Jeffrey. There was a dance move called "Back Slide",MJ took it and perfected it and made it more like an illusion and thats how moonwalk was created. But BackSlide aint got nothing to do with Shalamar. Check out Off The Wall album credits. He is credited for playin Percussions. It was way before he developed an ego. And if you got Off The Wall Special Edition you can hear the home demos of Don't Stop and Workin' Day And night being played by MICHAEL and Randy.(1978) Man just accept it. you're embarassing yourself [This message was edited Sat Jul 10 14:03:22 2004 by LightOfArt] U,ME,WE!....2FUNKY!

To agree or not to agree, that is the question...
From what I've read here and other sites, the overall consensus is the MUSICOLOGY is an average Prince album, but certainly not one of his best efforts. This album has fulfilled its purpose by being a good album for new fans and people who have not thought of him since PR, but from a fan's perspective, it's sub-par. While Rave un2 was unfocused and lacking of a hit single, and Rainbow and N.E.W.S flew over the heads of even the diehards, Musicology is good enough to bring in new fans and not cause the long timers to run for the commode. My third and fourth copy will be coming in September, I'll probably just give those away to friends. Jeux Sans Frontiers

And Michael is not the kind of guy to show "look I can play them". But that doesnt mean he can't play them. Jesus even that Slash(fom Guns N' Roses) said he is getting cool with guitar. Man, he has grown in a instrumentalist family, his dad can play the guitar so can his brothers. and so does Michael. His mother played the piano and thats how he started with it. He has been doing it for ages. Listen home demos from Off The Wall Special Edition. Michael and Randy plays them And nobody is saying you he is a great instrumentalist, but just stop with you obsession with Prince and learn to accept that there are talented artists other than Prince too. MJ learned the Moonwalk from him bcuz he did it b4 MJ on SoulTrain. MJ did add the slide that u r speaking of but he was'nt the 1st 2do the MW and JD taught him! And know u r calling me a liar sayin what i can't prove. My proof 2u 2 stay on point about MJ being credited with tappin a snare like ya do in band class.....When i say play the drums playa i mean play like sheila E plays behind the drumkit. I can play the damn Tamborines and get credited 4 playing percussion man. Just like MJ Lipsyncs half of his show he done creditsynced and fooled u but he can't fool a musician like me who's been around 2 long 2 know better. Hell even Alicia Keys played the Guitar last week on the BET awards show 2 showoff her versatility as a musician. If MJ could play those instruments(play4real!) His 46year old biggest ego in the whole wide world havin ass would have played some shit in Concert by now. PERIOD! Even if his ass just learned how 2 play last year. Now we can continue this debate over on MJ's website. PSYCHE!

And i metioned more artist than Prince in previous posts...Sheila E,Alicia Keys, Rod T! Show me the video of MJ plying DRUMs with a band or Guitar with aband or piano with a damn band or Shut the hell up! I've tried 2 school yo butt on this credited shit but u won't listen! It's obvious that u r the 1 obssessed with MJ and anything u read u believe! U,ME,WE!....2FUNKY!

MattyJam said: Come on... anyone who seriously believes this album is any better than Rave or Emancipation is seriously deluded. And anyone who believes Musicology is a return to his eighties standards has been reading too many reviews from music critics who hail Diamonds & Pearls as a record all future Prince releases should aspire towards.
With the exception of the gorgeous On The Couch and the very MJ-reminiscent What Do U Want Me 2 Do, the album is very weak, especially considering it only has twelve tracks. The title is a re-hash of a record he made three years ago, which wasn't even that special itself. Illusion, Coma... is a straight out pop record disguised as a "funk" work-out, for those who actually know very little about the genre. Life O The Party is the weakest and most offensive offering I've heard since Jughead. Cinnamon Girl is yet another bland soft-rock stadium filler that would sound better off on a Bon Jovi album where it really belongs. Call My Name is nice, but when you compare it to something like U Make My Sunshine with Angie Stone, you realise how below par it is. And Reflection is trying to be Circle Of Amour and falling flat on it's face everytime. If Musicology had tanked the way Rave did, it would not get the appreciation many of the fans give it - I'm sure of that much. [This message was edited Thu Jul 8 9:28:24 2004 by MattyJam] Okay, I agree with you that it's not one of his better Cd's, but it is better than "Rave". I really disliked that Cd alot.
