Be a man! Everybody knows it's The Beautiful Ones. Either way, that Susannah had a tremendous impact on the little guy and great timing.

I just think Adore sums it all up...the feeling of new love, the undying devotion, the importance of one's lover over material things. the multitrack voices...and the angelic chorus at the end...the song still gives me chills. Adore is Prince at the top of his game and in the elite group of Prince songs; the Beautiful Ones is bubbling under, just a level below that.
U put it together perfectly. I cant put it any way better

I absolutely love both, but I am going to have to say the Beautiful Ones! PEOPLE CALL ME RUDE, I WISH WE WERE ALL NUDE, I WISH THERE WAS NO BLACK AND WHITE, I WISH THERE WERE NO RULES!

Adore is great, but it's a player showing off his word skills and trying to get laid. The Beautiful Ones is real. That is an impacftul song.THose emotions at the end are real and that tension that is built up and released. That's Prince being a man. That is hard as hell! You can't beat that. What man hasn't sorta been in that predicament and when you state your case that convincingly it's all over! That is the supreme beauty of the pain and glory of a man and woman in confusion and love and scared of the risk. But the man has to find that strength in himself and throw caution to the wind or else he'll lose the woman. I can totally identify. "I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"

Adore
for the words alone until the end of time..... well maybe not the ride... pure devotion....she really impacted him..too bad it didn't last. Adore has always been for me the quintessential Prince song. I am surprised by the mixed results of this thread.

Beautiful Ones! Adore almost sounds like a gospel song, the organ and the chorus in the background. And it sounds almost straight foreward without all the emotions of beautiful ones... like someone else said, when he goes into the do you want him...
I get goosebumps. Also the best part is: "I may not know what I'm going to make, WOO! Lookit here, I said I may not know what I neeeed. (Guitar is screaming/pleading her also) One thing, one thing's for certain, I KNOW WHAT I WANT!" funny, I have had this cut on replay on my CD player all week. "The Beautiful Ones", without a shadow of a doubt. "Adore" has never grabbed me - in fact, as soon as "The Cross" finishes on "SOTT" I tend to stop it there.

The Beautiful Ones.
It's rare that raw emotion comes over in a song and The Beautiful Ones is positively dripping with the stuff. Sends a shiver down my back every time I lisen to it. Al Looks like we're gonna take the long way home 2night...

Very Very Tough... Both are my favorites!!!! But i am going to go for The Beautiful Ones.. It just holds a special place.. The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom - Anais Nin

The Beautiful Ones, hands down. Unless it's against Purple Rain, this song will ALWAYS win for me. It's just that amazing. There's nothing like it. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

They both are excellent lyrically.
But musically, puts "The Beautiful Ones," up by a mile. Adore is a bit boring musically, whereas "The Beautiful Ones," is a true epic with heart-pounding emotion pouring out in the last minute. Amazing!!!
