She started with him on the "LoveSexy" Tour... She and her band ("Funky Stuff") were supposed to be his support act for the last "LoveSexy" gig in Holland, but he changed his mind...
Candy disappointed, he felt sorry so he gave her some spotlight during "Blues In C (If I Had Harem)" during that gig... She impressed him so he took her to the US for another gig...

This isn't a comment on her playing in any way, but I think there is a part of Prince that likes the idea of having a female, white, blonde sax player.

Not that he would hire any old bimbo to play a few notes, they have to play, and play good, but just like Bobby Z, I think the attraction to having a multi-cultural band is still very mich attractive to Prince.
