LOVE this song. It's got an awesome beat that just gets you moving, it's full of totally infectious Princely attitude, and it actually stands for something. One of the few songs where Prince's rapping completely worked. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

YES!! I never saw this coming., In millions of years could i ever seen Prince coming out with P Control, I thought he did it with Orgasm..which really wasn't a song..But..It surprised me when i first heard it..Now i am a P Control junky..This is one of my favorite songs plus i know all the lyrics.. I have to say, I was not suprised by P Control--I was waiting for it! Prince, for me, had always been full of surprises, and songs that made you smile the first time you heard them and say, "Hell YEA, that's my boy!"
I LOVE being in the bar when this song comes on. The floor is always PACKED, and I love boogying my way across the room to find another person in the bar that knows all the words! This song, and ones like it, are the gems that have made me a Prince fane for over 20 years! Don't be shy, this won't hurt a bit

a damn fine song from what would have been a damn fine album (one of his best, actually) if it had maintained its original tracklist and if the tracks on the album had not been so grossly overproduced. i can understand, though, why he decided to change things. wb wasn't going to give it the promotion it deserved, and the whole feud thing was getting out of control anyway.
but yes, i definitely agree with this post. even though i had what i think was the original track-listed tGE as a boot, the song itself (P control) did indeed come out of nowhere. | |
