okay, so he's a genius who can play most anything, REALLY WELL! He's the shit on base, a wizz on the keys and other-worldly on guitar. What's your favorite Prince instrument that you think he hasn't been given enough credit for??

For as much as I love his ability on the forementioned instruments, there's one i think he's truely in a class off his own with. I've just partially downloaded (damn u! whoever it was on winmx who left me hanging halfway thru a mind-blowing download!) an "unreleased acoustic" version of Theives In The Temple and his VOCALS are totally in another realm! I fuckin' love this shit! There's things he can do vocally that give me a chill like nothing else recorded and this is one of them. Stark and painfull, i love it!
The quality is poor, but this is better than anything i've heard in at least 2 years. I need an album of this raw vocal shit! (anyone have any info on this track? - date etc)
Sometimes those beautiful, precious vocal moments are just a squeal here, or a ooohhh-hooo there but when u hear them you're like DAMN!: -example: for me much of the entire Camille catalogue; the "baby, baby, baby" squeal in Beautiful Ones; Pheremone in general (particularly the third verse ["her eyes are closed..."] but especially that desperate background "pheremone!" right after "oh this is crazy baby"); and the smooth vocal gymnastics just after 2 minutes into The One (until the instrumental section) instantly come to mind (Hell, the WHOLE song!). Mecca. No one else in music can touch that sort of shit! There's so many vocal moments that put him in a class of his own.

If he was unknown he wouldn't even make the early stages of American Idol, but fuck that bland vocal maria carey shit. His voice can, at best, deliver true emotion that those plastic wanna-bes will never master.
