What's the meaning of the sentence Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic?

Since the release of "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic", I always ask myself: What does it means - Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic? If I translate this into german, it doesn't make sense.
Please, help me!
Thanx - The New Power Man

Since Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic previous album was gonna feature the title song, The Voice Inside and God Is Alive

I would think that it is a referance 2 god. Rave to god. God is the "Joy Fantastic"
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Rave un2 the Joy fantastic is telling people to roar about the happiness in the music. this song was originally supposed to be on the batman soundtrack. if you ever listen to batdance, prince tells us to rave unto the joy fantastic.
i think he was being current to the present day rave scene. translated into german, i'm sure it means nothing because in enclish it is not a complete sentence.

I don't believe Cross The Line was ever part of the Rave album configurations.

It was originally scheduled for Lovesexy (replaced by I Wish U Heaven).

There are several tracklists for Rave Unto.. circulating, I'm sure a kind soul will post.

I never saw much merit in the song 'Rave....' - I like that era, one of my very favourite Prince tracks is Escape, which has that sparse, almost clinical electro sound of the post-Lovesexy/Batman era - But I remember when 'Rave' was leaked on the internet as an mp3, and then it was officially released, I just could never get with it, and still can't - I just don't enjoy the song at all, it has one of the most mis-leading song titles ever.

Too bad he didn't do a live version of the tune during the Rave Unto the year 2000 show.
The live versions he did during the Lovesexy aftershows were fierce, fast, and funky. Much better than the recorded song.

I don't think that there's anything too deep in the line, to be honest.

It's just a call to be positive.

'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic' = Offer yourself to the positive.

It might mean God (considering that originally, this was meant to be the follow-up to Lovesexy), or it might just mean getting on down at the Club and enjoying yourself.

It was just the next in a line of metaphors for whatever Uptown, Paisley Park and Lovesexy were also meant to represent.

In my humble opinion, of course.

"Joy Fantastic was originally the name he gave to Anna Garcia and he wrote the song for her. She didnt like the JOY part and just changed her last name and became...you guessed it ANNA FANTASTIC.
